    Last week, we held our annual Carrier Symposium in Northwest Arkansas – and it was an action-packed day full of education, recognition, networking and appreciation for those carriers that provide capacity in support of our shipper customers. This year, the event hosted 225 total attendees from Transplace’s core carrier partners, with 150 carriers from Canada, Mexico and the U.S. represented.

    Yesterday, Transplace announced that we have selected TPG Capital as our new equity partner. We are thrilled to join with TPG, and this partnership presents significant opportunity for both us and all of our customers.

    TPG is our third private equity partner in the past seven years, and we recognize the value they bring to the table in continuing to build and grow our business – which, in turn, allows us to continue to enhance the customer experience. This routine industry practice can yield immediate and significant results – however, if the relationship does not evolve into something more than this, even within the first contract cycle, there is a chance that the relationship will ultimately be suboptimal.
