    Yesterday, Transplace was thrilled to announce that it acquired Yusen Logistics Americas’ intermodal marketing company/over-the-road freight brokerage group. A subsidiary of Nippon Yusen Kaisha, Yusen Logistics is a global logistics and transportation provider that established a strong, successful North American intermodal business. This acquisition expands Transplace’s intermodal and freight brokerage capabilities and better positions us to meet the supply chain needs of our customers.

    Union Pacific, in conjunction with Ferrocarril Mexicano (FXE), has recently introduced expanded service on the Eagle Premium rail line and now offers new routes connecting the city of Silao in central Mexico to Chicago and Memphis. As a direct result of this service expansion, central Mexico is now bridged with the Midwest, Canada and the Southeast – opening up a number of new and exciting possibilities for shippers and offering them extensive benefits.

    A few months ago, Transplace partner Celtic International revealed some exciting news – the rollout of Celtic Rail Direct, a collaborative venture with Transplace’s Mexico operations. A door-to-door, seamless double-stack container service that connects all three North American countries; Celtic Rail Direct provides service between U.S., Canadian and Mexican markets in and near Monterrey, San Louis Potosi and Mexico City.
