    Shipper Symposium 2014 – Day 3 Recap

    - by Transplace

The final day did not disappoint as this year’s Shipper Symposium came to a close.  Attendees filed into the main ballroom in anticipation of hearing from speakers Economist Paul Bingham and former President of Mexico Vicente Fox in addition to hearing thoughts from the “NAFTA @ 20” panel.

But it wouldn’t be a Shipper Symposium if there wasn’t some fun and humor to get our day started! First up was Kecia Gray, Vice President, Marketing & Corporate Communications, who addressed everyone with a short, but very interactive welcome. From highlighting details of how far the event has come over the last 12 years to showing off Shipper Symposium attendee selfies, Kecia thanked all the sponsors, attendees and especially her teams for helping make the Signature Event better and better with each following year.

    Shipper Symposium 2014 – Day 2 Recap

    - by Transplace

Day 2 kicked off early for many Shipper Symposium attendees brave enough to face the cooler temps and stormy weather forecast to attend the 12th Annual Charity Golf Classic, but it was worth the gamble as blue skies and sunshine prevailed by late morning.

Instead of golf, some attendees chose to check out the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. As the 13th Presidential Library administered by the National Archives and Records Administration the museum is also a Federal agency and is located on the campus of Southern Methodist University.

PSST! Why HR Requires Your Attention

    - by Transplace

In 2011, Transplace increased its focus on human resources (HR). First, by hiring Adrianne Court as Chief Human Resources Officer and second by supporting her vision, which transformed the HR functions within the organization in less than two years. By focusing on areas such as continuous investment in learning and professional development, reward and recognition and talent development programs, we’ve seen the impacts of a great HR department that are felt both internally by employees and externally by customers.  And most recently, others have recognized it as well. In December, Adrianne was named as DallasHR’s Human Resources Executive of the Year Award, an annual award recognizing an HR executive who has exemplified the strategic role of HR and who is an outstanding leader within the HR community.
